I agree that the tools they give you are a joke. Mine broke immediately. I ended up having to use a sharp knife and a flathead screwdriver to finally get the thing apart.
The instructions were pretty terrible too, be sure to look that up online.
But as far as the battery goes, it seems to be working fine.

Battery seems as good as an original iPod battery. The install tool to open up the iPod was pathetic and worthless. I broke both of them before even budging the iPod open. I had to spend as much as this battery to buy a quality install tool from another company in San Antonio.

I use this battery for repairing friends’ iPods. The other batteries I used sucked. Some were so bad , they were DOA. This one is made by Cameron Shino and comes with a 12 month waranty. It is better quality than the others and claims to have 100 more mAh’s too. I’ve used five already and they tend to average 8.5 hours of life. I have never had to send one back either. If you feel up to it, go to youtube and watch how to do it before you try. Just be sure to buy THIS one, okay?

Nice price and arrived quickly, clamshell package was the easy open type – I hate the completely sealed ones. Included a tool to open the ipod case, this worked ok.
Battery itself took about 10 seconds to replace. There was no replacement sticky pad to hold the new battery in position, but there was enough remnants of gunk from the old one to do the job.
Overall pretty pleased, and I’ve gained 70mAh over the original battery – my 5 year old video ipod now working like new!
