I bought this case a couple weeks ago after looking for a protective case for my 4G iPod Nano. With all the different cases out there, my basic thought was “What good is a colored iPod if you can’t see it?” I looked at similar products from other companies and chose the Belkin for the simple reason that I could find it in a store – that meant I could see it first-hand since I have never purchased one before.
The good:
After two weeks there are no scratches whatsoever, and that has been after riding around in my pocket with my keys. Whether this stays that way remains to be seen.
Good access to most everything. There is a very thin plastic membrane over the control wheel so that is protected too (and until I examined the case closely, I didn’t even realize it was there – it’s that responsive).
The tab on the top back allows the case to be removed relatively easy.
It fits snugly to the iPod and doesn’t add much size, making it slip easily into just about any pocket.
The bad:
The top plastic is just a bit thick making the hold button a bit more cumbersome to access. It’s easy to use with your pinky, but if you use the hold button often you may want to reconsider this.
The bottom has thick plastic around the edge. While plugging the sync cable and included earbuds is no problem whatsoever, the case will not fit in a dock. At least it’s relatively easy to remove the case. Again, if you regularly dock your iPod, you may want to reconsider. Some headphone plugs may not work well either if they need to sit absolutely flush against the headphone jack (although I have tried four different ones and they all work fine).
There you go. It’s a very good case if A) you want to see your iPod’s color, B) you want good protection without the bulkiness of other cases, and C) you don’t need to constantly dock it.

Elegant clear design completely and almost invisibly protects your iPod, including the screen and control wheel. Except for use in a dock, provides full access to all functions and ports without removal.
Doesn’t come with instructions- To open, place your finger in the sync connector opening and pop the front and back half apart. Set your iPod properly in the back half and place the front over it. Firmly press along the sides until both fully snap into place.

This Belkin case is thick enough that you may be unable to fully insert your 3.5 mm headphone plug into the bottom of the case. This annoyance could have been avoided through better design.
Apparently Apple designed the iPhone with a similar problem. So there is a growing aftermarket of inexpensive adapters with elongated 3.5mm plugs which work around the iPhone’s poor design. These iPhone adapters also solve the problem with this Belkin case. Plan on buying one of these adapters to make this case fully functional.
Aside from this ‘bug’, the case works well, especially if you like a functional, minimalist design.

this is a great case.. nothing else to say.
first time trying to open it might be tricky but once u know how to open it.. it’s easy as pie.
great protector…
there’s a thin plastic film protecting the spinwheel… not a problem… protects the wheel from scratches and dirt… lightly touching on it will still allow the ipod to detect finger movement.
people with FAT fingers might have hard to turning on & off the hold button… i use my pinky to turn it off and on.. no big deal.
you can plug the sync cable and headphone cable with the case no problem
GREAT PROTECTOR! @ GREAT PRICE.

In my opinion it was very pricey but I think it the long run it will be worth it. The ‘circle’ area fits very nicely. I don’t use any dock or such so the ‘tight spaces’ does not bother me. I think it’s great to show off the color of the iPod. The quality of the product reflects its price which is why this is a little pricey, but I think it’s quite worth it and it keeps the iPod flawless. :]
